I mean, I am sure your parents have watched that video back hundreds of times if they have one! Now imagine that kind of heirloom for yourself! We promise to take care of you 100% of the way.

That is how we try to approach every wedding we have the privilege of shooting! We capture all the important stuff like the first look, first kiss, first dance, and everything in between, but that means we also try to capture all the fun moments and things that make your wedding day yours.

More about Wedding Videography

Kiley Marissa Photo + Video obviously does wedding photography, but we are also a Minnesota wedding videographer! Wedding videography is an amazing way to capture all of the “in between” moments and emotions of the wedding day. I (Scott) have been shooting wedding videos for 5 years now, and I have had the honor of shooting over 50 weddings and creating 50 unique wedding videos. Throughout all of it, I have loved being a Minnesota wedding videographer

With each couple we work with, we try to capture all the obvious stuff, but almost more importantly, we try to capture you, your family, and your friends. We want your wedding video to obviously look amazing, but more so, we want it to really capture the emotion and vibe of each couple.

Our normal wedding videography package focuses on a wedding highlight film that is a “highlight” of the entire wedding day that features audio from throughout the wedding day such as vows and speeches. These wedding highlight films are normally 3-5 minutes long, but we do offer customized wedding videography packages with longer wedding highlight films such as 5-7 minutes or even longer. In addition to the wedding highlight film, we also offer additional wedding edits such as separate wedding ceremony edits or edits of just the wedding speeches or toasts.

For more info on packages, fill out our form to create a custom wedding videography package.

Scott Van Daalen - Minnesota Wedding Videographer

More About Scott

Coffee addict, coffee shop addict, coffee technique addict… get the point? Ok but seriously, he loves coffee. Scott’s perfect day off would probably include coffee tastings at the local hip shops. Passionate about Minneapolis + St. Paul but also loves checking out new cities. On a typical wedding day, Scott is the guy who is making friends with the groomsmen and telling the groom it’s okay to cry on their wedding day. He helps keeps things organized, on time, and gives you a killer video that you can watch for years and years to come. #winwinwin.

Scott has been shooting wedding videos and wedding highlight films for over 6 years.

Wedding Videography FAQ's

Q: What is your wedding videography style?

A: We would describe our style as naturally cinematic. We prefer to remain stealth through most of the day, and avoid putting pressure on the couple with staged scenes. We love working alongside wedding photographers to capture the wedding day together. With that said, we make sure we capture as much material as possible for the best final result (whether a video highlight, or a longer feature film). Everything is discussed with the couple during our pre-wedding meeting to make sure we are all on the same page.

Q: How long have you been doing wedding videography?

A: I (Scott) have been doing wedding videography in Minnesota for about 5 years! I first started in the wedding industry when a friend randomly asked me to assist them shooting video at a wedding. I didn’t really think much of shooting wedding video at the time, but I needed the money! From that point on, I second shot around 15 wedding videos, and then, I jumped into lead shooting wedding videos. I have loved wedding videography and being a part of couple’s big days since!

Q: There is this awesome song by [insert popular artist name here] that I really like. Can you use it for my wedding film?

A: We only use licensed and royalty free music for our work. Prior to the wedding day, we send out a questionnaire with a bunch of info about the wedding day and about you as a couple, and a part of that questionnaire is your music style! From there, we work to find the perfect song to match you as people and to match with how your wedding day felt. This makes sure your wedding highlight film is perfect!

Q: When will I receive the Wedding Video Highlight?

A: Per contract, we normally require 6-8 weeks to deliver the highlight film. But quite often we deliver it earlier, within 4-6 weeks. This depends on the other bookings we have, and the backlog of videos that have to be edited. If you need the video produced sooner, let us know and we’ll work with your specific requirements!

Q: We are all about that drone / aerial vibes for our wedding highlight film… Can we get that?

A: The short answer is hopefully yes…. We have a drone that we bring to every wedding, but it is always contingent on a few things. That means the weather has to be cooperating, location not prohibited by FAA regulations, and wedding venue giving permission to fly a drone.

Q: What does a typical wedding videography package look like with Kiley Marissa Photo + Video?

A: We always try to work with couples to create a video package that makes sense for them! We start with what you actually want and build a package from there. Our most common wedding video package is a highlight film, ceremony edit, and edit of the wedding speeches; this typically starts around $2,500.

If that is out of your budget, don’t worry! We still want to work with you; we can work on creating a package that works or create a package with one of our associate wedding videographers!

Q: How do you make sure to get high quality audio for the wedding highlight film?

A: For the ceremony we typically use two Lav mic's to capture the audio for both the Bride and Groom, as well the officiator. Don’t worry you won’t have any wires showing, it’s discreet. It also won’t interfere with any signals coming from your DJ. On top of that, we also get a backup audio feed from the dj or the venue sound system. It’s all internally recorded. If you wish to not use a Lav mic we have other options as well. We record the toasts by plugging directly into the DJ's soundboard. We think a lot about audio because it can make or break the wedding video! Plus… no one wants to look back at their ceremony film in 5 years and not even be able to hear their own vows!

Q: Any tips for maximizing and getting the most out of our wedding video?

A: We actually wrote a blog about this exact topic! Crazy right?! You can check the blog out here.
